Richmond is an inner residential neighborhood developed in 1950 and located in the south-west part of Calgary, Alberta. Its location is east of 20 th and 19 th Streets, north of 17th Avenue, west of Richmond Road and 25A Street and south of 33rd Avenue.
The Richmond Community has two public schools that serve the neighborhood named Chinook College for Continuing Education and Richmond Elementary. These are publically funded. Apart from these, there are several private schools too. Also, most of the dwellings in this neighborhood are single-family detached homes.
The total area of Richmond is about 0.69 square miles, and 17% of the residents here earn a low income. It was first represented in the Calgary City Council only at a provincial level. It was later on that Richmond got a federal level representation.
